What ChowNow publishes

ChowNow lists three plans from US$229 a month, a setup fee between US$119 and US$499, and a card rate of 2.95% plus 29¢ (ChowNow pricing, checked 29 October 2026). Direct orders are commission-free, and delivery through its own network is charged per order.

There is no Canadian pricing page in evidence, so before comparing it with a Canadian product, ask whether they onboard Canadian restaurants and what they charge in Canadian dollars. A US price is not a Canadian price once the exchange rate and cross-border card fees land on it.

The setup fee and card rate do the damage

Compared with a Canadian flat fee, ChowNow puts three costs on top of the subscription: a setup fee up to US$499, a card rate near 3% plus 29¢, and a per-order charge for delivery. On a $40 order the card fee alone is about US$1.45. None of that is hidden, but all of it is outside the headline monthly price.

Where Chefzi is different

The price is published, in Canadian dollars, before you talk to anyone: $17 CAD a month for cash and pickup ordering, $35 CAD with card payments, per location, with no commission per order.

Chefzi is priced in Canadian dollars with no setup fee, no card rate of its own and no per-order delivery charge, and it is built for Canadian tax and billing rather than adapted to it. Menu setup and onboarding are free.
